Steve Marriott

On this edition of '6 Degrees' we look at the late, great frontman of The Small Faces and Humble Pie - Steve Marriott.

  • Steve Marriott formed Humble Pie in 1969 - being the guitarist and singer during two spells from 1969 - 75 and again from 1979 - 83.

  • His co-founder was an eighteen year old Pete Frampton.

  • Pete Frampton played on David Bowie's 1987 album, Never Let Me Down and the following Glass Spider Tour.

  • Peter Gabriel covered Bowie's Heroes on his 2009 album, Scratch My Back.

  • A young Paul Weller appeared as a session musician on Peter Gabriel III, which was the one with Games Without Frontiers and Biko, although he only appears on And Through The Wire.

  • And who should appear as a guest musician on two tracks on Weller's 2010 album, Wake Up The Nation, but one KEVIN SHIELDS.
